Automating the Civilization

Everyday, someone somewhere is coming up with new ideas. Some of these ideas will be fully realized into physical objects waiting to be used. There may be benefits to these new inventions, yet there are consequences. This exhibition will question the impact of new technology in cities. It will instigate the audience to imagine what new invention is necessary and what roles they had with such inventions.

The exhibition will feature products through images, drawings, and physical models of products and mock-up cities. The exhibition will reflect the effectiveness of products to instigate change in urban culture and how these changes shape future outcomes. One example is cell phone and its banned from usage while driving. This product, cell phone, is a great tool for people to conveniently socialize and connect, yet can have a negative social impact that can cause lives.

The exhibition will present material based on types of products and the issues they present in society. Within the exhibition, there will be a zone for technology that impact the media. There will also be an area for products that deals with social networking. Another area shall present issues technology has in public domain.

The exhibition should inspire the audience to subjectively determine the positive and negatives of new technology and the responsibility he/she assume during usage. The audience should be able to critically determine what impact on society the new technology, new products, has, and whether they should be adopted.
